Mobility Programs

Four mobility programs host activities for participants from all over the world, stressing areas such as culture, learning the French language, human rights as well as civic action and new media.

LabCitoyen

LabCitoyen is a program dedicated to major issues relating to human rights. In France, it calls on about 50 young committed citizens of ages 20 to 26, those who speak and are learning the French language, to receive training on such issues through a series of lectures and discussions.

SafirLab

On issues such as a right to education, awareness of healthcare stakes, setting up citizen media, women’s rights, all over the Arab world, young people have become active in developing their societies, improving their daily lives and promoting freedom of expression. Since 2012, SafirLab, a laboratory for change of the Institut français and CFI, has been assisting such young actors from societies undergoing change.

Focus Cirque

Created by the Institut français, Focus events aim at introducing international programmers to new trends in French artistic creation. Organized in order to impulse new synergies and facilitate French production and creation, these meetings are scheduled during a few days alongside major performing arts events in France. This Circus Focus will bring together 20 programmers and stakeholders from Asia and Latin-America.

Focus Visual Arts

Establishing links between the foreign professionals and creative talents living in France, identifying new opportunities for the development of their careers, targeting influencer networks: these remains the key missions of the Institut français. Initiated by the Institut français - with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication – the Focus program aims to encourage professional exchanges et collaborations and to give a closer look at the contemporary art scene in France and its diversity through a 5 days tour in Paris and in region. Organized twice a year, this professional trips are schedule alongside major visual art events in France.

Cité internationale des arts residencies

The Cité internationale des arts program is open to foreign creators, who wish to develop a project of research in Paris during a period of three or six consecutive months. These artists may be identified by the Institut français, Alliances françaises, cultural services of the French Embassies or French and foreign cultural organizations.
