10th Anniversary of “Croisements” Festival in China

The date is set in 20 cities of China for the 10th anniversary of the “Croisements” Festival.
Up until July 10, 2015, “Croisements” Festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary, with a highly rich program covering ten artistic fields, namely visual arts, architecture and design, new media, classical and contemporary music, jazz and new music, dance, theater, new circus and street arts, cinema, literature, young public – in more than 20 Chinese cities.
With a tip of the hat to the cultural tradition of both countries, in a contemporary and humoristic way, the graphic style of this outstanding edition, produced by agency Lava Beijin, combined icons from the French culture and masks of the Beijing opera.
The festival has received the support of ten major figures in Chinese culture, including pianist Lang Lang, producer Feng Xiaogang, painter Zeng Fanzhi, writer Jiang Fangzhou, video maker Zhang Peili and dancer and choreographer Jin Xing.
Set up in 2006 on completion of the France-China cross-year events, the ‘‘Croisements’’ Festival has not ceased to attract the attention of professionals and conquer the heart of the public, to become ‘‘the greatest French cultural festival abroad’’. By setting out to meet 8 million spectators in ten years’ time, it has shown the best outcome from Franco-Chinese collaboration to a public of all ages, from all horizons. The Festival is supported by the Institut français within the scope of its mission to foster artistic cooperation and exchanges.
