10th anniversary of the Rwanda Film Festival

The 10th edition of the Rwanda Film Festival will be held on July 12-18, 2014 with the support of the Institut français of Rwanda and the African Film Library.
 
The Festival will, for its opening, present a documentary entitled Intore by Rwandese filmmaker Eric Kabera. Focusing on the theme of Reflection, the Festival’s 2014 edition offers a selection of films that portray African and international contemporary history and provide a unique retrospective on Rwanda. China will be honored in this 10th edition.
 
The programming in Kigali, Kiyovu and Nyamirambo includes approximately 30 films, among which Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom by Justin Chadwick, with Idris Elba and Naomie Harris, at the closing of the event.
 
One week before the Festival, the 4th edition of Maisha Film Lab will take place in Kigali on July 6-13. 15 participants have been selected to take part in a writing, directing and production workshop. They will be led by professionals of Rwandan cinema, namely Amy Boghani, screenwriter and member of the Mirabai Films Maisha production company; Joel Karekezi, director and producer of the feature film The Pardon; Cajetan Boy, producer, screenwriter, filmmaker, film editor and actor; Kivu Ruhorahoza, filmmaker of the feature film Grey Matter, and Mattew Bell, producer.
