2016 Génération bilingue

On July 8-17, 2016, 50 high school students from 33 countries took part in the 4th edition of the Generation bilingue edition of the Institut français, organized in collaboration with UCPA, in Paris and Montpellier.
The participants were selected by way of local contests including over 5,000 candidates throughout the world and inviting students to produce texts and videos on the themes of unequal rights to healthcare as well as the future of healthcare.
Génération bilingue is open to students of ages 16 to 18 in French-language bilingual programs. By offering an educational itinerary on history, science and major societal programs (hence the topics selected for this year’s edition), the program aims to encourage new generations with regard to learning the French language all over the world and building from within awareness of a French-speaking bilingual international community.
A ten-day training program designed as an educational path alternated between cultural and scientific tours of Paris as well as in the French provinces, with workshops of a think tank-discussion nature led by specialists, professionals and representatives of associations.
Génération bilingue is one of the Institut français’ four attractiveness programs. It falls within the scope of an educational cooperation structure implemented by the Institut français fostering the development of French language and bilingual education.
