2016 World Forum for French-Language Bilingual Institutions

Principals, coordinators and teachers in the bilingual sections of LabelFrancÉducation schools from all over the world will meet in Greater Paris to exchange on the training of teachers, quality benchmarks and partnerships.

On June 20-21, a world forum of LabelFrancÉducation schools will be held, bringing together representatives from these approved French-language bilingual schools every other year.

Launched in 2012, LabelFrancÉducation approval is granted to foreign schools, whether public or private, that have selected French-language bilingualism and that meet quality criteria. These schools offer their students a curriculum with emphasis on the French language, thus enabling them to study other subjects in this language.

This year, 91 schools will be represented at the forum, the latter aiming at fostering encounters and setting up a network. This event will include several roundtable discussions as well as workshops for principals, coordinators and teachers in bilingual sections.

The topics covered are at the heart of the quality of bilingual education. The school project, quality benchmarks, teacher training and educational resources, the French language environment, partnerships and local and international networks are on the agenda. The participants will also be given access to the Vade-mecum of the bilingual section, created especially on the LabelFrancÉducation website.

The forum has been organized in partnership with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, CIEP and Agency for the teaching of French abroad. Support for bilingual education is at the core of the Institut français’ promotion of the French language.
