Art nOmad Biennale

An experimental artistic project aiming at winning over Venice, the art nOmad Biennale brings together the works of artists selected by Paul Ardenne, contemporary art historian and writer, to set out to meet the public in a rural environment.
Within the scope of its agreement with the Limousin Region of France, the Institut français is fostering the first art nOmade Festival, to go from the Palais idéal du facteur Cheval in Hauterives to the Drôme, and on to Venice, from October 21-25, 2015.

In the Starting Blocks, an outstanding convoy

This experimental artistic project is embarking on the art nOmad vehicle works by artists selected by Paul Ardenne, contemporary art historian and writer, also curator at the Luxembourg Pavilion of the 56th edition of the Venice Art Biennale. The works selected illustrate the theme of all that is sublime, paying a tribute to artist James Lee Byars. On the way, different stops in Montélimar and Marseille will lead to a special presentation of the exhibit, in and around the vehicle.
This first traveling contemporary art Biennale has been organized by the art nOmad Association, created and run by plastic artist- ‘‘entremétologue’’ (go-betweener) Clorinde Coranotto, who lives and works in the Limousin Region. The aim of the Association is to take action in rural areas by ‘‘peddling’’ art in different locations, for all sorts of populations. It consists in opening up children, teenagers and adults - whatever their age or social origin - to culture, with direct access to artistic practices, thus enabling them to no longer feel excluded from such modes of expression.
