Asia, ‘‘La double coquette’’ on Tour

From April 21 to May 2, 2015, the Amarillis Baroque Ensemble was on tour in Asia, with La double coquette, a comic opera, for the occasion, directed by Annette Messager and Fanny de Chaillé.
Created at the Opéra-Comique in 1753, the comic opera by Antoine Dauvergne, La coquette trompée, was at the time lauded for its modernity. The Amarillis Baroque ensemble wished to extend this work by adding interludes ordered by Gérard Pesson based on texts of the poet Pierre Alferi, thus creating a new and marvelous work, La double coquette.
The concert version was on the program in Continental China. The stage version, with which Annette Messager and Fanny de Chaillé have been entrusted, was created in Hong Kong, at the opening of the French May event. Educational actions also took place during this tour, in China and in Hong Kong. The stage version will be staged in Paris in the fall of 2015, at the Autumn Festival.
