Atelier TK+, Land Art, Landscaping and Urban Design in Uzbekistan

A workshop dedicated to the topic of public space will be organized in Uzbekistan in an effort to boost French-German know-how in the fields of landscaping, urban design and land art.

Organized with the support of the Franco-German Cultural Fund and the Institut français, TK+ is a cross-disciplinary project combining architecture, visual arts, landscaping and urban design. Its objective is to make students, as well as the general public, aware of a new approach to urban areas, ever more attentive to the user and concerned with sustainable development. This workshop will also assist in the creation of a new department dedicated to landscaping within the Institute of Architecture of Tashkent.

Julien Dupont, architect-artisan (Atelier Flexible), and Philip Götze, artist-designer (Büro Allemand) will lead this workshop and assist students of the project’s partner institutes – Institute of Architecture/Bekhzod Institute of Fine Arts of Tachkent – to help them develop a critical and active view of their environment. It is concerned with expanding one’s vision as much as possible as well as offering a new strategy for cities.

TK+ will close with an exhibit-contest that is open to the public. The objective is, in fact, to produce a series of temporary installations to demonstrate the students’ thoughts on the subject, thus paving the way for new possibilities for users, and rewarding the best works achieved in the course of the workshop.
