Danse l’Afrique danse!

‘‘Danse l’Afrique danse!’’ is part of a global strategy aiming to assist young teams of artists and professionalize the dance channel. For its tenth edition, ‘‘Danse l’Afrique Danse!” is starting afresh by taking on a triennial format. The first two years helped find and assist new choreographers in their creation process. In the last two years, the works produced by artists were also presented to the public by way of four regional platforms, in Tunisia, Cameroon, Senegal and Mozambique. The fruit of this project will see the light of day in November 2016 within the scope of the “Dialogues de corps” (Body Dialogues) Festival and Ouagadougou International Dance Festival of (OIDF), organized in Burkina Faso.

Set up in 1995, now a reference on the African scene, “Danse l’Afrique danse!” honors the most emblematic choreographic creations on the African continent. This major event is part of a global strategy to set up a dialogue between the most active players in the realm of dance on the continent and provide long-term assistance to young teams of artists.
