Danza Francia in Colombia

French contemporary dance will be highly represented at the Dance Biennale of Cali and Danza Festival en la Ciudad de Bogota, with five key troupes.
On November 7-20, 2015, a condensed program designed in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Alliance française and the Colombian Ministry of Culture, will present diverse approaches and esthetic forms through the works of five key troupes.

As a result of a willingness on the part of Colombian Ministry of Culture, contemporary dance has over the years taken on a major role in the field of stage arts in Colombia, thus enabling the French contemporary and urban dance scene to find a particular echo.

Benefiting from the presence of a host of artists, directors of theaters, festivals and choreographic centers, this Danza Francia event will also encourage encounters between French and Colombian professionals and creators for common projects. This presence will help consolidate the ties between French and Colombian institutions for the forthcoming France-Colombia Cross Season in 2017.
