FOCUS on Contemporary Music

The first FOCUS dedicated to Contemporary Music has been organized within the scope of the Manifeste Festival. 50 professionals from all over the world are invited to discover the French musical scene.
On June 10-14, 2015, 50 programmers, Artistic Directors of venues or festivals will take part in this first FOCUS dedicated to Contemporary Music organized by the Institut français as part of IRCAM’s annual Manifeste Festival.
On the agenda are concerts; especially those created by Laurent Cuniot, Michaël Levinas, and other composers from IRCAM and Centres Nationaux de Création Musicale, interpreted by ensembles such as TM+, Ars Nova, Le Balcon, the National Jazz Orchestra, ONCEIM Orchestra, for encounters (roundtables, speed meetings) between artists and programmers; showcases of emerging composers organized in collaboration with SACEM and Futurs composés on June 12.
Foreign programmers will also be able to attend a certain number of creations presented within the scope of the Manifeste Festival, at the new Philharmonie de Paris or at the Carreau du Temple.
An event intended to assist foreign professionals in discovering French artists, FOCUS is also present in the realm of Visual Arts, Photography, Dance, Current Music, and Circus. The aim is to encourage exchanges between French and foreign professionals and contribute to the international developement of French artists. Professionals are invited by the French Cultural Network abroad (Instituts français, Cultural Services of Embassies, Alliances françaises).
