Italy, Transarte time

Within the scope of the Italian Francia in Scena program, the Institut français enhances cross-discipline writing through the Finestate partner network, consolidated for the TransARTE program.
The TransARTE label, developed by the Institut français, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, fosters the circulation of innovative creations and collaborative works, at the crossroads of the performing arts, visual arts, music, literature, discussions and digital arts, hosted at truly new venues, in the aim of enriching the programs of partners in Europe, Latin America and beyond.

In Italy, the Finestate network, the TransARTE program includes the following partners: B-Motion/operaestate, Festival Veneto, Short Theatre, Terni Festival, Contemporanea Festival e di Approdi et Festa di Arte e Comunità.

These partners have decided to invite arts with an esthetic sense deriving from dance, (Ivana Mulle, Boris Charmatz, Gaëlle Bourges), visual arts (Alex Cecchetti, with Tamam Shud), music (Pierre Sauvageot with a Public Concert) and theater, with Moi, Corinne Dada by Collectif Zirlib to Rome, Terni, Prato and Cagliari.

The highlight of TransARTE will also give Onda an opportunity to organize a ‘‘Repérage’’ (Exploration) session from Thursday, September 15 to Sunday, September 18, for the Short Theatre Festival in Rome and Terni Festival in Terni.

A multidisciplinary festival, Short Theatre brings together a community of artists, professionals and spectators who defend artistic creation, with a concern for opening up internationally. The Terni Festival, set up in a small town of Umbria, 60 miles from Rome, offers a program that scrambles borders between the different disciplines, between immersive theater, in situ events and urban action, highly committed to the development of its territory. Two festivals, two demanding artistic visions, evolving in very different contexts, work together in a completely complementary yet united manner. The program offers Italian contemporary stage performances - Muta Imago, Filippo Andreatta, MK, Francesca Grilli, Lucia Calamaro, among others – alongside international artists.
