Labcitoyen 2015 edition

For ten days, 81 young people from 53 countries questioned ‘‘human rights with regard to environmental challenges’’ within the scope of the 3rd Labcitoyen program.

On July 5-15, 2015, 81 young people from around the world came together in Paris for the 3rd edition of Labcitoyen based on the theme of ‘‘human rights with regard to environmental challenges’’.

This year, with the organization in Paris in December of COP21, these young people of ages 18 to 25 came to give thought to the consequences, for society, of climate change and to the threats weighing on respect for human rights in the world.

On the agenda were conferences, discussions, roundtables, practical workshops and encounters with researchers, legal experts and members of civil society (Fondation Nicolas Hulot, Oxfam, Survival).

Coming from 53 countries (Burma, Burundi, Chile, Estonia, India, Guatemala, Kuwait, Mali, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Zimbabwe, etc.), the winners of the Labcitoyen program have been selected by the French Cultural Network abroad. Most of them are committed in their country to defending respect for human rights.

LabCitoyen is one of the Institut français’ four attraction programs, enabling young participants from all over the world to be welcomed to France.
