Piano, France-Italy Plateform for Contemporary Art

PIANO is a Franco-Italian curatorial platform that unites different players from the world of French and Italian contemporary art. In 2014, 17 bodies joined forces with approximately twenty artistic proposals.

The highlight of PIANO took place on May 8-9, 2014 in Rome, with the opening of an exhibit of Fondazione Giuliania, a round table discussion at Villa Medicis, followed by a performance at the MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo.

PIANO is presented in the form of exhibits, events, crossed-residences as well as a website acting as an interface and space dedicated to dialogue. Its design and editorial content have been entrusted to the Italian art magazine, Cura.

Created on the initiative of d.c.a, French association for the development of art centers, and set up in partnership with the Institut français in Italy, the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut français, PIANO benefits from the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Communication as well as Nuovi Mecenati (Foundation of New Patrons) in Italy.
