Teaching French to the Staff of European Institutions

The Alliance Europe multilingue Consortium won the call for tenders of the European Commission for ‘‘Language Training for the staff of institutions bodies and agencies of the European Union in Brussels and Luxembourg’’.
Starting in January, 2016, the Institut français will assist in teaching the French language to the staff of European institutions set up in Brussels and Luxembourg. It will propose cultural offerings likely to develop a motivating and accessible French-speaking environment by making its different digital platforms available:

Making cultural resources available is part of this offering presented by the Alliance Europe multilingue Consortium – of which the Institut français is a member – in reply to a call for tenders of the European Commission for ‘‘Language training of staff of institutions, bodies and agencies of the European Union in Brussels and Luxembourg’’. The Consortium, coordinated by the Alliance française de Bruxelles-Europe, is composed of, in addition to the Institut français, Cavilam – Alliance française, CNED, CIEP, Institut français du Luxembourg and Prolingua.

Added to this cultural dimension, the proposal includes language courses prepared and tailored according to the levels and objectives of the civil servants in training, to be provided over a period of 60 months.

These training programs will enable the staff of institutions set up in Brussels and Luxembourg to develop the language skills needed within the scope of their missions. This requires, on the one hand, strengthening the internal efficiency of civil servants through excellent language skills for internal communication and, on the other hand, ensuring effective external communication with citizens of the European Union and the world.
