World congress of French teachers in Liège

On July 14-21, 2016, more than 1,500 French teachers from all over the world will take part in the 14th Congress of the International French Teachers Federation, held in Liège (Belgium).
Under the distinguished patronage of Michaëlle Jean, General Secretary of Francophonie, this Congress will be an event to highlight the linguistic and political affirmation of worldwide Francophonie.
The 2016 edition of this international congress, entitled ‘‘Le français, langue ardente’’ (French, Fervent Language), will concern the role of the French language in the cultural, social, intellectual, economic and business worlds of today and tomorrow. The role of French and its importance,  certainly still first and foremost, must however – given the in-depth changes in the world, with networks and changes taking place – lead to new analyses and new initiatives.
The Institut français, a partner in this event, will be present throughout the Congress, with the:
  • Participation of President Bruno Foucher in the Opening ceremony
  • Presentation of the clip, ‘‘Et en plus, je parle français!’ (And, in addition, I speak French!’’)
  • Organization of a round table discussion entitled "Les start-ups, nouvel acteur dans l'enseignement du FLE" (Startups, a new player in Teaching French as a Foreign Language) with Holo 3, Honkytonk and Wakatoon
  • A semi-plenary session devoted to the Institut français’ cultural digital platforms made available to French teachers
  • A workshop devoted to IFprofs, the social network for French language education
  • Participation in a workshop entitled "Dialogue d'expertise" organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.
