This fifth edition was an invitation to discover new forms of creation - including virtual and augmented reality, video games, web creation, digital art - and to take a forward-looking look at the changes in our societies: environment, heritage, gender equality, etc.
Workshops, debates, shows, exhibitions, hackathons, escape games, and more, enabled amateurs and experts, both French and international, to decode together the digital revolution at work in our societies. The highlight of the 2021 edition, the Institut français' new exhibition Escape, voyage au cœur des cultures numériques, was presented in many countries (Peru, Costa Rica, Turkey, Ivory Coast, Congo, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria) and invited audiences to discover digital cultures in an educational and entertaining format, through some thirty creations combining digital artworks, web documentaries, video games and augmented reality experiences.
To celebrate this fifth anniversary, the Institut français also presented a Paris edition of Novembre Numérique for the first time, from 24 to 29 November, in partnership with some major cultural institutions. This event was an opportunity to highlight the wealth of French digital creation and to celebrate the launch of IFdigital, the new website for French digital creation.
Steered by the Institut français, Novembre Numérique is the month of digital cultures.
