The Institut français focuses its actions in favor of the following objectives:
- To guarantee the support to projects as initially planned for the year 2020, subject their confirmation and in constant dialogue with the establishments of the French cultural network abroad, Instituts français, Alliances Françaises and all of the associated partners.
- To ensure the continuity of the ongoing public procurements, with adjustments made to the submissions calendar in order to enable firms to send proposals in the best circumstances, despite their difficult operating conditions resulting from their remote activity.
- To study, on a caseby-case basis, the conditions of possibly postponing, partly or totally, projects lead by our institution, individually or in partnership (training workshops and Ateliers de Institut français, Focus programs for professionals, Labs, World Cinemas Pavilion at the Cannes festival, artists residency programs in France and abroad, French Pavilion at the Venice Biennial, Africa 2020 Season, France in Japan Season, FrancePortugal Season, among others).
In coordination with its Ministries of supervision and in particular the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Institut français commits to ensure and adapt its support to the entire French cultural network abroad in the course of a direct and reinforced dialogue. Guidelines and tools will be made available to the Instituts français and Alliances Françaises language centers abroad to ensure the continuity of their linguistic activities, to the best extent possible. It will also gather and make available online cultural resources proposed by cultural institutions, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture.
All members of staff of the French cultural network abroad are invited to maintain their direct relations with their correspondents at the Institut français.
The Institut français addresses its most sincere expressions of solidarity to each and every one of you around the world, as we look forward to better days when we will work together again for the greater circulation of works, artists and ideas.
Take good care!
The team of the Institut français
