This competition invites amateurs, students and professionals to create a video based on a sound sequence of one minute and 44 seconds before midnight on 15 December 2019. The audio file is available and can be downloaded from the La Semaine du Son website
Chaired by composer Jorge Arriagada, the competition jury includes Nicolas Curien (member of the Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel - the Audiovisual Council), Nadine Muse (sound engineer, sound editor, member of the CST - the Technical Council for Image and Sound), Julien Weiss (Campus Radio network), a member of the Institut français, and Béatrice Thiriet (composer and secretary general of the Union des Comiteurs de Musiques de Films or the Union of Film Music Composers - the UCMF). The jury may be completed at a later date.
Several prizes will be awarded to the best videos, including the Institut français prize of 500 euros which will be awarded to the best animated film. They will be presented at the 15th edition of La Semaine du Son (The Week of Sound), on Friday 24 January 2020 at a special evening event.
