FOCUS and professional meetings
The Institut français aims to facilitate meetings and connections between French and international cultural players, whether artists, creators, intellectuals, entrepreneurs or institutions.
Promoting the international development of French CCIs
As part of its mission to support French creators and cultural and creative industries in their international development, the Institut français relies in particular on its FOCUS programs and the organization of professional meetings.
They are designed to help foreign professionals identify the sectors of French cultural creation and encourage their distribution worldwide. Every year, nearly 250 international guests, identified by the Institut français and the French cultural network abroad, benefit from the FOCUS programs, which promote the French arts scene to them and encourage lasting collaborations.
Many FOCUSES in 2025
Conducted in partnership with flagship events that provide opportunities to discover new talent and meet the best specialists, the FOCUSES cover a wide spectrum of sectors: whether it's books, live performance, digital creation and virtual worlds with the NewImages Festival (Paris), or early music with the Festival d'Ambronay.
On the occasion of Rencontres d'Arles 2025, Focus Photographie will bring together international players with Diagonal, a national network of thirty structures for the distribution and production of photography, in eleven regions including French Guiana.
As part of the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon in September, Focus Danse will unveil eight creations by internationally renowned choreographers and those of a new generation of up-and-coming artists, as well as choreographers from the RhôneAlpes region.
During Contemporary Art Week in Paris and the Art Basel Paris fair (October), the Visual Arts Focus will bring together some fifteen international curators and directors of prescriptive art venues.
In December, in connection with the exhibition that Mobilier National will be dedicating to the art and craft of textiles between France and India, guests at the Métiers d'art Focus will take part in professional meetings and follow a tour of France dedicated to this subject.
