Stendhal Programme
French professionals
The Stendhal programme supports French-language authors whose writing project justifies living abroad for at least one month.
In return for a flat-rate subsidy, writers contribute to cultural exchange activities carried out by members of the French cultural network abroad (seminars, public readings, meetings, writing workshops).
A testament to the global perspective of French literature, the Stendhal programme has contributed to the successes of Maylis de Kerangal, Marie Darrieussecq, Emmanuel Carrère, Patrick Deville and many others.
