From October 6 to 9, 2025, 56 cultural operators from 21 African countries and France, winners of the Accès Culture program, gathered for the second edition of the Euro-Africa Biennial, organized in Montpellier.

About Accès Culture

Accès Culture is a support scheme for African cultural operators implemented by the Institut français with funding from the Agence française de développement since 2020. Its aim is to support cultural projects led by pairs of African and French operators, with a view to fostering social ties and strengthening collaborations between cultural players.

Dialogue and commitment at the heart of the Biennale

After a first collective exchange organized in Rabat in 2024, this new meeting was made possible thanks to the partnership between the Institut français and the City and Metropolis of Montpellier. It consolidated the network dynamic between the program's prizewinners, who gathered around workshops, professional meetings, round tables and inspiring visits to the heart of the local cultural ecosystem.

Beyond these dedicated times, Accès Culture program winners actively contributed to the Biennale's programming. Several laureates took part in panels on key topics such as transcontinental cooperation and social inclusion, while others presented performances and artistic creations.

This partnership was part of a dynamic of exchange and mutual enrichment: The Biennial offered the prizewinners a space for visibility, reflection and networking, while the event drew on the diversity, commitment and creativity of the project bearers.

Finally, this edition was also an opportunity to bring Accès Culture into dialogue with other committed dynamics. Three beneficiaries of the Safir - Ambassadors for the Mediterranean project were able to meet the program's winners, paving the way for new synergies in the cultural and creative sectors.

A fertile encounter between two dynamics committed to a more accessible, sustainable and inclusive culture!
