Chadian director Achille Ronaimou at the Grand Nord 2020 workshop
Updated on 07/02/2020
The Institut français has been a partner of the Grand Nord Workshop, organised by SODEC (the Quebec Cultural Entreprises Development Society) in collaboration with the International Organisation of La Francophonie, for seven years to enable the selection of a French-speaking African participant. He's the Chadian director Achilles Ronaimou, participant in La Fabrique Cinéma 2018 which was selected this year for its project Dia.
Achille Ronaimou
Self-taught Achille Ronaimou, a Chadian national, began his career as an actor. He then benefited from several writing residencies, training workshops and programmes including Sud Ecriture, Ouaga Film Lab and La Fabrique Cinéma at the Institut français. He has directed three short films selected at various festivals. Dia is his first feature film.
The 17th edition of the Grand Nord Workshop will be held in Montebello from 30 January to 6 February 2020. The event will bring together professionals from the French-speaking film industry for working sessions and discussions around the scenario of feature films in French.
