The Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Institut français, operator of the French Pavilion, are launching a call for projects for the French Pavilion at the 17th Venice International Architecture Biennale in 2020.

The call for projects is open to architects, or to a multi-disciplinary team involving at least one experienced, industry-leading architect, and a young architect under 40. The candidates are invited to design their project following the guidelines laid out by the Curator of this 17th International Architecture Biennale, a position held this year by the Lebanese architect Hashim Sarkis, on the theme "How we will live together".

The Venice International Architecture Biennale will be held from 23rd May to 29th November 2020. “The Biennale has a curator who is particularly sensitive to the topics and urgent demands that society brings to bear on our living environment”, stated its President, Paolo Baratta.

The application deadline is Friday 13th September 2019.
