Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire - Interregional and international cooperation in the film and audiovisual sector
Updated on 22/09/2021
As part of the "2 temps, 3 mouvements" interregional scheme, and with the aim of supporting and structuring its visual sector, the Centre-Val de Loire Region and Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire with the support of the Institut français, in close partnership with the Brittany and Pays de la Loire Regions, hosted the second session of the EAVE Producers Workshop, from 19 to 25 July 2021 in Orléans.
What is the Producers Workshop?
EAVE Producers Workshop is aimed at experienced producers of feature films, documentaries and series who wish to expand their activities internationally by broadening their knowledge of production and co-production, while developing a pan-European professional network. Each year, 50 producers and other professionals from the European audiovisual and film sector are selected to participate in 3 annual sessions (one week in Luxembourg, the other two weeks in two other European countries). More precisely, there are plenary sessions, individual meetings, group work, and many informal opportunities to develop one's professional network.
In 2021, the Centre-Val de Loire, Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions are hosts for this second session of the EAVE Producers Workshop, which took place from 19 to 25 July.
A European training course for the international development of regional professionals
Following on from Déclic, the international co-production forum set up in October 2020 by Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, the hosting of this prestigious European training course in the Centre-Val de Loire region continues to embody the complementary nature of the policies implemented by the Centre-Val de Loire, Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions in favour of the film and audiovisual sectors.
Favouring long-term economic impact and the structuring of their visual sectors, these three regions are joining forces to promote the international development of their visual sectors and the attractiveness of their territories.
EAVE's visit to Orléans was part of this dual dynamic, offering regional professionals the opportunity to develop their network through meetings with the 50 European producers in attendance, and also by offering specific training sessions to professionals from the three host regions on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 July 2021. These two days were specifically designed to meet the needs and problems encountered by regional producers in the areas of:
- International sales;
- Strategy and business development;
- International co-production;
29 professionals from Brittany, the Loire Valley and Centre-Val de Loire were able to take part in these plenary sessions, but also to meet the European participants and experts present during this second week of workshops.
Lastly, this event helped to identify the Centre-Val de Loire, Pays de la Loire and Brittany regions as legitimate and essential partners in terms of international co-production. The foreign producers in attendance were thus able to discover the regional professional networks, and also the financial and logistical resources made available by the three regional institutions.
