Dançar na primavera: French contemporary dance shines in Portugal with MaisFRANÇA 2025
In spring 2025, the Institut français du Portugal (IFP) is putting French contemporary dance in the spotlight as part of MaisFRANÇA, its emblematic cultural program launched in 2023. This ambitious event is part of a strong cooperation dynamic between France and Portugal in the field of live performance, and more specifically dance.
Boosted by a desire for lasting artistic dialogue, Dançar na primavera invites itself to the most emblematic venues for contemporary Portuguese creation. In Porto, the Serralves em Festa festival, organized by the Serralves Foundation, will welcome with 20 dancers for the 20th century. The Théâtre Rivoli, host of the Dias de Dança festival, will present the singular universes of Gisèle Vienne and Rachid Ouramdane. In Almada, meanwhile, the Transborda Festival at Casa da Dança will bring together Nacera Belaza, and Katerina Andreou.
Beyond representations, ButFRANÇA is developing a structuring cooperation network, encouraging artistic mobility, Franco-Portuguese collaborations and innovative projects at the crossroads of disciplines. In this way, IFP intends to reach out to the whole of Portugal, beyond the main Lisbon-Porto axes, and reach new audiences with demanding, bold and open French creation.
This program, a showcase for the dynamism of the French scene, reflects the richness of contemporary aesthetics and helps strengthen links between artists, institutions and audiences in both countries.
25 years of the Marcel Duchamp Prize in Budapest
In the spring of 2025, theLudwig Museum in Budapest, one of the most important museums of contemporary art in Central Europe, presents an exceptional exhibition devoted to the contemporary French art scene, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Marcel Duchamp Prize. With 18 artists from the French scene featured in the exhibition, this is the project that presents the most artists from our scene among the projects supported in 2025.
Organized in collaboration with ADIAF (Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l'Art Français) and the French Institute of Hungary, this exhibition is supported by the French Institute as part of its IF Incontournable and PICC programs.
The exhibition is a sequel to Ludwig Museum curator Borbála Kálmán's invitation to Focus arts visuels Paris 2023, a program of invitations for international curators to France, organized by the Institut français.
Intitled IN A FIELD WELL-FOUND - ARTISTIC PRACTICES FROM THE MARCEL DUCHAMP PRIZE'S 25 YEARS, the exhibition offers a subjective look by curators Jan Elantkowski and Borbála Kálmán at the Prize's leading artists: winners and finalists who have marked the last twenty-five years of creation in France.
A parallel documentary feature will trace the history of the prize. This original presentation will enable Hungarian audiences to discover the richness and diversity of the French scene, in a dialogue between local and international perspectives.
The project also includes ambitious mediation actions: meetings between collectors, visits by French journalists and artists, professional exchanges and the participation of Hungarian art students.
Artists: Kader ATTIA / Maja BAJEVIC / Bertille BAK / Mohamed BOUROUISSA / Céleste BOURSIER-MOUGENOT / Mircea CANTOR / Julian CHARRIÈRE / Julien CREUZET / Latifa ECHAKHCH / Cyprien GAILLARD / Noémie GOUDAL / Camille HENROT / Thomas HIRSCHHORN / Bouchra KHALILI / Kapwani KIWANGA / Anri SALA / Zineb SEDIRA / Tatiana TROUVÉ

The Design Blender - Le Labo' cultural project: French design in Milan
On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile of Milan 2025, , supported by The Design Blender, is back as a must-attend event to unveil innovative, responsible and committed French design. Conceived as a laboratory of creativity, this event highlights young talent and new voices in design alongside more established structures, all particularly attentive to environmental and societal issues.
Far from the hustle and bustle of large exhibition halls, Le Labo' offers a human-scale format conducive to encounters and exchanges. Here, guided and accompanied visitors can discover the creators behind the objects, attend lectures and benefit from personalized tours.
The project also stands out for its commitment to accessibility, with reduced rates to encourage the presence of young designers. In 2023, 70% of exhibitors were French - a figure The Design Blender hopes to maintain in 2025 to make the Labo' Cultural Project the beating heart of French design in Milan.
A complementary alternative to the Salone's large spaces, Le Labo' aims to refocus design on authenticity, encounters and meaning, while establishing itself as a must-see for international industry professionals and journalists.
