A follow-up exhibition to the project "Communities at work" by Christophe Hutin

From June 23 to September 18, 2022, the Arc en rêve architecture centre is presenting the exhibition Common, community driven architecture in Bordeaux. Curated by David Brown, designer and artistic director of the Chicago Architecture Biennial 2021 - Graham Foundation, and Christophe Hutin, the exhibition is a continuation of the project Les communautés à l’œuvre presented by the French architect for the French Pavilion at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2021.

From the available city to communities at work

Common, community driven architecture brings together elements from two exhibitions held in recent years around the theme of the shared city and communities that operate outside of normalised, commercial circuits and relationships: David Brown's vision for the Chicago Architecture Biennial in 2021 and Christophe Hutin's French representation at the Venice Architecture Biennale held the same year.

Despite the thematic proximity that unites the two approaches, each is distinguished by the singularity of the experiences it relates. Unprecedented experiences that have durably affected the lives of those who took part in them, all too ready serve as examples.

Through a selection of examples and proposals from different continents, the exhibition explores what an active design of spaces with their inhabitants would look like.
