Call for applications - Jazz Tour by the Institut français in Indonesia
With a view to strengthening artist exchanges and expanding on forms of cooperation, the Institut français in Indonesia is working with Forum Jazz Indonesia to make it easier for French jazz groups to tour the country. One tour, organised in partnership with AJC, is aimed at young talents and artists selected as part of the Jazz Migration project. A second tour, open to all in autumn 2023, is now the subject of this call for applications.

The call for applications is open to French artists (or those living in France for several years) who have made at least one album with the group presented (duo, trio, quartet, ensemble of a maximum of 4 artists). The artists must have international ambition, demonstrated by significant experience, and a particular interest in Indonesia and Southeast Asia (artistic project, collaboration, co-production). Applicants must be available between 15 and 30 November 2023 for a programme of 3 to 4 dates in Indonesia, including a concert at the Ngayogjazz Festival on 18 or 19 November. The tour dates may be modified if the group is already planning to tour other Asian countries during this period. The group needs to be able to arrange co-financing (CNM, Spedidam, Sponsors) in order to secure the tour budget; the Institut français and its Indonesian partners can cover around 60% of the tour costs.
