The VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH proposal by JAKOB+MACFARLANE architects – Dominique JAKOB and Bren- dan MACFARLANE – in partnership with MARTIN DUPLANTIER ARCHITECTES and ERIC DANIEL LACOMBE EDL ARCHITECTES, has been selected in the competition to represent France at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – the Venice Biennale.

In 2025, the French Pavilion will be closed for major renovation works; the French national participation with the VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH programme will take shape of an exterior project, to be deployed around the French Pavilion.

The curatorial team of the French Pavilion, consisting of three architecture firms – Jakob+MacFarlane, Eric Daniel Lacombe, and Martin Duplantier – has launched a call for projects for the VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH exhibition that will be held in Venice from May 10 to November 23, 2025 and will be accompanied by a catalogue. This is a transnational collective research effort for the future. Each architecture team will propose a project, either built or ongoing, aiming to shape a new kind of architecture – that of VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH. 

In October 2024, the selection committee will choose the projects to be featured in the VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH exhibition and included in the catalogue of the French Pavilion.
