IFcinéma à la carte encountered huge success when it was launched on a more occasional basis in 2020 to make up for the closure of cinemas due to the public health crisis. The operation, which showcases the eclecticism of French and African cinema, has therefore been relaunched for the entirety of 2021.
IFcinéma à la carte brings together a selection of short and feature-length films, regularly updated and aimed at the general public worldwide. While the majority of French films cannot be accessed in France, the French public will still be able to enjoy part of the selection, particularly the African films.
For its 2021 launch, IFcinéma à la carte is sharing four feature films by women filmmakers, from 8 February to 8 March:
- Angèle et Tony (Angèle & Tony) by Alix Delaporte
- Le beau monde (High Society) by Julie Lopes Curval
- La Cour de Babel (School of Babel) by Julie Bertuccelli
- Tout est pardonné (All is Forgiven) by Mia Hansen-Løve
Developed by the Institut français, IFcinéma à la carte is aimed at the French cultural network abroad and its audiences, enabling them to discover French and African films for free online.
IFcinéma offers a catalogue of French and African films for non-commercial public screening events. This programming and broadcasting support is aimed at the network of French cultural institutions abroad, its partners and teachers.
