Natacha Poutoux and Sacha Hourcade, former laureates of the Villa Kujoyama, present a project at the Gwangju Biennale
During their residency at Villa Kujoyama in 2021, Natacha Poutoux and Sacha Hourcade from the natacha.sacha. design studio set out to find new, more responsible and sustainable development protocols for the design of technological devices. Their research project took the form of the eco-design of a technological object that makes the most of traditional Japanese know-how: a wooden rice cooker based on the traditional wooden basket technique. Titled [Passerelles] exploring new territories between traditional crafts and new technologies, this project is on show at the Gwangju Design Biennale in Seoul until 7 November 2023.
