The Scopitone festival is back from 8 to 19 September 2021 after a year off. Although it is transforming again, and adjusting to the constraints of the health context, it still has all its DNA!
For this 19th edition, the festival will set up in ten places around Nantes, and will give the opportunity to see installations, live shows and performances, and attend conferences, workshops and film-concerts for young audiences.
"Hyper Nature", a must-see exhibition
The superb Hyper Nature exhibition should not be missed under any circumstances: it brings together eighteen works by French and international artists that question our relationship with nature and the contradictory and sensitive relationships we have with it, thanks to or because of technology. It either attempts to reproduce it, enhance it or fantasise about it, sometimes conveying new utopias; or take a critical look at it, imagining what it would be without us or where we would be without it.
It can also be a question of understanding or envisaging phenomena that elude us, enchant us or seem to be beyond us on land and elsewhere. Hyper Nature also draws on history, science, or even beliefs. Through the works of major digital artists, it is a tremendous tribute that suggests particular attention to the present, at a time when futures seem extremely complex to imagine.

The Institut français is a partner of the Scopitone festival with his programme Digital Crossroads. This new online programme intends to promote the French digital creation and offers to put international professionals in contact with their French counterparts.
