The Institut français supports children's literature abroad with Pépites internationales
The Institut français is launching Pépites internationales, the 7th edition of the program resulting from its partnership with the Salon du livre et de la presse jeunesse en Seine-Saint-Denis (SLPJ), to promote the works in the Pépites illustrated books and comics selections, the SLPJ literary prize, to young audiences abroad, particularly French language learners, and to professionals in the international book trade.

Over the course of a year, until March 2025, the program offers the cultural network abroad a turnkey literary program which, in addition to combining cultural discovery and linguistic work through the provision of works and teaching resources, aims in particular to strengthen the position of French books and authors for young people around the world, by supporting foreign publishers in their plans to acquire the rights to selected titles.
To support French language teaching centers, media librarians and book attachés in their efforts to promote children's books, the Institut français is making the books available in digital format on Culturethèque, the cultural network's digital library; a booklet on the selection in French and English, to help identify the works, publishers and authors selected; a teaching kit for learners and teachers of French as a foreign language; and guides for promoting and hosting online encounters with the authors.
