The Institut français supports this year's winners of the AJAP
Created in 1980, the Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes (AJAP) awards aims to identify emerging talents and make them known in France and around the world. Winners benefit from a promotional campaign over two years, offered by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine and the Institut français.

Organised every two years by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, the AJAPs are open to architects and landscape designers aged 37 years and under on 31 December 2023, with no condition of nationality, who have carried out a project or participated in a competition in France. The awards recognise young professionals who stand out for their design and innovation abilities, the care taken in implementing their projects and their commitment to societal issues.
The AJAP awards process has evolved several times since 1980 to adapt to the working practices of younger generations.
For the first time this year, the awards were open to graduates in architecture who do not manage projects in their own name but who explore other professional paths thanks to their skills in architecture as employees or entrepreneurs in areas such as: graphic representation and modelling, contract management, project management, planning, design, cultural mediation, etc.
The promotional campaign deployed by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine and the Institut français includes:
- Organisation at national and regional level of debates and meetings with the professional spheres in architecture, landscape and culture,
- Publication of the 2023 AJAP catalogue,
- Participation in professional events and networking with a panel of public and private contractors engaged in the promotion of young architects and landscapers, as part of a “Sponsors’ Club”.
