Video games “Pégases“ award winners

Supported by the Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo (The National Union of Video Game), the « Pegases », the new award of video game, rewarded on March 9 the best of French creation in this booming sector.

Eighteen prizes have been awarded to French and foreign video games and personnalities during the first “Pégases“ (Pegasus) ceremony, produced by the Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo (The National Union of Video Game) – with the support of the du CNC, of the Direction Générale des Entreprises, of Amazon Game Tech, of  Société Générale, of Audiens Group, and of GamesPlanet. 

The ceremony took place on march 9th at the théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris. A Plague Tale : Innocence, developed by Asobo, which invites the gamer to dive at the heart of a plague during the Middle Ages, has received 6 trophies, and among them, the Pégases of the “Best video Game“, “Best game design“, “Best visual experience“ and “Best video game universe“.

Dead Cells, by Motion Twin, has been awarded “Best mobile game“. The studio Accidental Queens has received the “Academy special prize (beyond the game)“ for its audio mistery game Alt-Frequencies. And Un pas fragile, by Opal Games has been awarded “Best first video game“.

Don’t look (Cnam-Enjmin) has been crowned “Best student game“, and Night Call, by Monkeymoon, “Best indie game“. The members of the Academy also paid a tribute to the narrative excellence  of Life is strange 2 (DontNod Entertainment/Square Enix).

So many proofs of the abundance and quality of French video game creation, but also, of its diversity, that Jehanne Rousseau, co-founder and CEO of the studio Spiders (GreedfallThe Technomancer), elected “Personnality of the year“, calls for by these words: “Our industry needs diversity. The more different people we have, the more different games we will have“, said she, by receiving her trophy.
