2026: a year of committed culture with the Institut français

In a world plagued by crises, the Institut français has opted for commitment, dialogue and creativity. It unveils 10 major highlights that will structure its action in 2026.

1. The "Voyage en Ukraine" Season

The "Voyage en Ukraine" Season continues, with programming that celebrates the resilience at the exceptional vitality of the Ukrainian art scene. Until the end of March.

2. Yto Barrada takes over the French Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale

3. The "Africa Forward" Summit

5. The Mediterranean Season

The Mediterranean Season opens on May 15 in Marseille with a major festival and will celebrate throughout France and partner countries the richness, diversity and vitality of Mediterranean cultures, as well as the depth of human and artistic exchanges. From May 15 to October 31.

10. FOCUSES

Throughout 2026, the Institut français will roll out a structuring program of FOCUSES and meetings bringing together French and international professionals and covering all artistic sectors. Several dates in 2026, in Avignon, Caen, le Havre, Lille, Nantes, Rennes and Vienna.
