Launched last April, the Brazil-France 2025 Season is now firmly established in the French cultural landscape. Conceived as a celebration of the 200 years of diplomatic relations between France and Brazil, this exceptional Season, desired by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, offers programming on an unprecedented scale, with over 300 events spread across some 50 French cities.
Organized by the Institut Guimarães Rosa for Brazilian programming in France and the Institut Français for French programming in Brazil (starting in August), the Brazil-France 2025 Season is under the banner of dialogue between societies, ecological transition and democracy.

Since April, museums, theaters, art centers, festivals and public spaces have welcomed Brazilian contemporary creation in all its diversity: visual arts, photography, music, architecture, literature, live performance... Major cultural institutions such as the Musée d'Orsay, the Grand Palais, the Musée Picasso and the Rencontres d'Arles have joined forces with the Season, as have numerous local authorities and structures.
Exhibitions, concerts, performances, screenings, meetings... the French public was able to discover the vitality of the Brazilian contemporary scene, from Lucas Arruda at the Musée d'Orsay to Cildo Meireles at Mont-Saint-Michel, via funk at Lille, Ernesto Neto's immersive installations at the Grand Palais, or Anna Maria Maiolino's committed work at the Musée Picasso.
And that's not all! Throughout August and September, new highlights will enrich this program, including the continuation of several major exhibitions opened in the spring or summer: like Lucas Arruda or Marina Rheingantz in Nîmes or Sonia Gomes at the Louvre-Lens, the Brazilian program at the Biennale de la danse in Lyon and metropolitan France, but also the "Amazonies" exhibition at the Musée des Confluences in Lyon, giving a voice to indigenous communities through their objects, knowledge and stories.
As the weeks go by, this Season highlights a new generation of Brazilian artists, the richness of African and indigenous cultural heritages, the committed voices of women and young people, and the vitality of a plural, daring Brazil on the move.
The program will continue throughout the summer until September in France, before taking over in Brazil from August, with a spotlight on French creation in Belém, São Paulo, Salvador, Recife, Rio and Brasília.
The Brazil-France 2025 Season embodies more than ever the shared ambition to build a common future through culture, cooperation and solidarity. It illustrates the capacity of culture to bring peoples together in dialogue, to inspire change and to imagine together other possible futures.
