Launched last December, "Le Voyage en Ukraine" celebrates the cultural resilience and creativity of Ukrainian society in the face of the war of aggression waged by Russia since February 2022. The Season of Ukraine in France continues throughout March, culminating in the closing event on March 28 at La Gaîté lyrique, Paris.

At a time when Ukraine is courageously fighting for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, which also includes recognition of its language and culture, this cultural highlight gives the French public the opportunity, through artistic events, meetings and debates, to gain a better knowledge and understanding of the singularity of Ukrainian identity, its depth and richness.

Literature, cinema, music, heritage, debates, gastronomy...: the Season of Ukraine in France continues throughout the month of March in some twenty French cities, helping to strengthen ties between populations, develop cultural cooperation between countries and promote Ukraine's anchorage in Europe.

Main events

  • "MAPAix: encounters on memorial issues" - March 6 in Dunkirk

"MAPAix" brings together teenagers from Boutcha and Dunkirk around a project to document, map and enhance the memorial narratives of these two martyred cities. Beyond commemorative issues, what reflections can we share on the mechanisms that lead to conflict? In the autumn of 2025, the group began work on this delicate and topical issue, gathering testimonies and identifying instruments and tools to structure the approach, using cartography in particular. This phase will culminate in an immersion stay in Dunkirk for Boutcha's young people. During this second phase, the young participants will be able to share their experience in the context of Dunkirk's geography of memory, in conjunction with local players. A public event will be held on this occasion, in the presence of Ukrainian and French personalities - academics, historians, authors, etc. - during which the project will be presented. A public event will be held on this occasion, in the presence of Ukrainian and French personalities - academics, historians, authors, etc. - during which the group's work on a map of places of everyday memory in Boutcha and Dunkirk will be presented. This project is part of the cooperation dynamic of the international Memory Cities network, which aims to promote peace, the intergenerational transmission of memory and conflict prevention through cultural and civic actions.

  • "The Soul of Ukraine: musical homage to the spirit of the Ukrainian people" - March 26 at Saint-Denis Cathedral Basilica

Through the works of Lesya Dychko, Hanna Havrylets, Victoria Poleva, Valentyn Sylvestrov and other Ukrainian composers, the Kyiv choir, organists Iryna Kalynovska and Quentin Guérillot, will offer a unique musical journey: from silence to fullness of sound, from folklore to contemporary experimentation. This exceptional musical evening at Saint-Denis Cathedral Basilica, in partnership with the Saint-Denis Festival and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, will bring together the choir, a living symbol of human unity and a reflection of the richness of Orthodox culture, and the organ, which in Catholic tradition embodies the order and harmony of the universe.
