A specialist in cultural projects, as well as marketing and communication, Volodymyr Sheiko held leadership positions at the Ukrainian branch of the British Council for 11 years. Director of the Ukrainian Institute since it has been created, Volodymyr Sheiko was in Paris in mid-July, where an office was opened in November 2023. During a working meeting at the offices of the Institut français, which actively cooperates with the Ukrainian Institute, he spoke about the partnership between the two institutions:
"My name is Volodymyr Sheiko, and I am the Director of the Ukrainian Institute. It is a public institution in Ukraine that focuses on cultural diplomacy, which means developing cultural relations between Ukraine and other countries.
We are very pleased to have established a permanent office here in Paris last November. I am visiting to strengthen the cooperation between the Ukrainian Institute and the Institut français. We have recently concluded an agreement that provides for achievements in various fields: exchanges, study trips to France and Ukraine, joint projects, and various activities allowing French citizens to discover Ukraine, its culture, and its place in the world."

The Partnership Between the Institut français and the Ukrainian Institute
The Institut français and the Ukrainian Institute signed a partnership agreement in Kyiv on May 23, focusing on:
- Commitment to cultural diversity and public debate;
- Support for freedom of expression;
- Solidarity among actors in cultural cooperation.
The Institut français thus supports:
- The development of the Ukrainian Institute's activities in France;
- The hosting of Ukrainian cultural professionals;
- The visibility of the Ukrainian cultural scene in key events in France.
