Dialogues européens à Bucarest, juin 2025.

This edition of the Facing War - European Dialogues cycle, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, is part of the Shared Horizons program. This program strengthens dialogue between young people in the Western Balkans, in view of the enlargement of the European Union. The European Dialogues in Bosnia-Herzegovina will bring together these new voices of civil society and research from the Western Balkans and the rest of Europe.

Thirty years after the Dayton-Paris Accords, the European Dialogues in Bosnia-Herzegovina will be a platform for the region's civil societies and youth. From a European perspective, this event will explore, since the end of the war in the Balkans, societies' desires for the future and the role of trust in social ties, peace processes and democratic resilience.

Over three days, participants will grasp the different sources and dimensions of trust. The program will be built with the 32 new voices of research and commitment that the French Institute is supporting as part of the Horizons partagés program. Committed to ecology, women's rights, anti-corruption and disinformation, these personalities with very diverse profiles represent a formidable pool of expertise and insights into the contemporary realities of the Western Balkans.

The European Dialogues in Bosnia-Herzegovina will take place in Sarajevo from September 17 to 19, in partnership with Sarajevo Fest and the Historical Museum of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and in Banja Luka on September 20, in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska. A pre-dialogue event took place in Tuzla on June 20, 2025, in partnership with the Contemporary Women's Festival.
