From January 3 to 24, Royal de Luxe was in Chile with its latest show, Apesanteur. This tour was supported by the French Institute, the French Embassy in Chile, the Ministry of Culture, and the city and metropolis of Nantes.

Based on a short story published in Voici, this theatrical series oscillates between two worlds: spatial weightlessness and emotional weightlessness. The result is a show where nothing works as it should: the director is absent, the cameraman has missed his train and the producer has been replaced at the last minute. A chaotic film crew confronts a script that writes itself, while the audience follows an investigation as absurd as it is fascinating.

The company has close ties with Chilean audiences, delighting them with its creations since 1985. From Roman Photo to Petits contes Nègres (working title) in 1999, via Soldes! Deux spectacles pour le prix d'un in 1993, or the more gigantic La Petite Géante et le Rhinocéros caché in 2007... Jean-Luc Courcoult's shows are eagerly awaited by hundreds of thousands of people. With Apesanteur, the Royal has created a less imposing work, with no giants. A unique and unusual show, it tells a detective story oscillating between dream and reality. The investigation is full of surprises, set in an often misty atmosphere reminiscent of Nordic detective novels. The show is full of twists and turns, combining dynamic action, humorous special effects and ingenious devices combining technique and poetry.

The show has been performed in Santiago, Constitution Square, Iquique and Antofagasta.
