Discover the projects of Villa Tijuca's "Cruzamentos" residency programme in Brazil
5 minOpen in a spirit of dialogue between cultures, Villa Tijuca seeks to encourage and support co-creations between French and Portuguese-speaking artists, both in Brazil and in France.
Supported by the Fabrique des Résidences of the Institut français, the "Cruzamentos" programme accompanies four projects associating French and Brazilian artists and conducting research at the crossroads of disciplines. The programme is supported by the Alliances Françaises du Brésil, in partnership with Funarte, Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse and the MC2: Maison de la culture de Grenoble.
Hybridization between capoeira and krump, aerial structures, immersive compositions, questions about the body and identities are among the themes explored by the resident artists of the 2022 season.

The companies LOLDANSE (France), Dança Multiplex (Brazil) and the multimedia artist Joséphine Derobe are the leaders of Impermanence, a research project based on the notions of deceleration, partition of movement and the relationship between dance, music and technology. Materialised by a composition of bamboo, the artists create an immersive and dreamlike scene.

Le futur est ancestral, by the company Sine Qua Non Art, Fábio Motta and Felipe Vian, explores the notion of body-scenography, thinking of the physical envelope as a mobile stage. This project is presented as a manifesto of the bodies of the 21st century, torn between ancestrality and capitalism, made of transformations, rituals and contemporary re-readings.
