On April 12th, 2020, during the lockdown, Ruedi Baur started a logbook to illustrate and question, with daily drawn illustrations, this historic moment.
Everyday he realised one or more illustrations based on the news, on discussions and on his feelings. The outcome created a real encyclopedia of the lockdown and his end.
During the Fall of 2020, the exhibition « Et soudain le monde fut immobilisé » ("And suddenly the world stood still") took place, initiated by the Institut français of Morocco. This exhibition brought together more than 120 of Ruedi Baur's illustrations, shaped according to the places where they have been presented.
The exhibition travelled to Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Kenitra, Meknes, Oujda, Rabat, Tangier and Tetouan. And it is not finished yet, as other presentations are already planned !

The Institut français and the exhibition
The Institut français is associated to the Ruedi and Vera Baur's project "Et soudain le monde fut immobilisé”. This project presents a series of filmed dialogues with designers, an exhibition that was presented at the Institut français of Morocco from October 2020 to January 2021 and a night of discussions around design within the framework of Lille Capitale Mondiale du Design 2020.
Ruedi and Vera Baur discussed about all those topics in an interview given to the Institut français.
