FOLIMAGE is an animation studio specialising in traditional 2D animation and stop motion. It was founded in 1981 by director and producer Jacques-Rémy Girerd, with a strict editorial policy that favours the perspective of authors with atypical worlds and completely singular techniques.

The Résidence d'artistes, which has been producing international short films for 25 years, is a perfect illustration of this. The Institut français is a partner in this residency and offers a selection of Folimage films on IFcinema. All of these films are made available to the network of French cultural establishments abroad (Instituts français, Alliances Françaises, SCAC, etc) and its partners (festivals, media libraries, cinemas, film clubs, etc) for the organisation of public, non-commercial screenings around the world.
