Born in Portugal, the artist Manuela Marques now lives and works in Paris. In recent years, she has been developing photography and videography projects on manifestations of natural phenomena. She has travelled several times to the Azores archipelago to work on tellurism and volcanism, continuing this research in France during a residency at Domaine de Kerguéhennec. 

As part of the France-Portugal 2022 Season, her project Echoes of nature – pigment prints on baryta paper – is being presented through three solo exhibitions taking place at MuMa in Le Havre, Domaine de Kerguéhennec and at the Chiado National Museum of Contemporary Art in Lisbon, Portugal. A fourth exhibition will also be held at Villa Tamaris as part of the event A summer in Portugal.
