The Institut français, partner of MaMA Music & Convention 2022

The festival programme included more than 170 talks, debates, workshops and meetings, as well as more than 120 concerts across 10 venues in Pigalle. 

During a session organised by the Centre National de la Musique at the FGO-Barbara, the Institut français and CNM delegations were able to discover 11 artists from the new French music scene during a pitch. Featured were: Animal Triste, Eugénie, Illustre, Johnnie Carwash, Lass, Lova Lova, Moïse Turizer, Sun, Temps Calme, The Psychotic Monks, and Theo Charaf. 

This forum for discussion was an opportunity to present the Institut français's devices and programmes dedicated to music and digital creation. The discussion included the presentation of the immersive and interactive concert by the artist Owlle, produced by Atlas V in partnership with Arte and Twitch. The speakers discussed these new artistic territories, their means of production and the prospects offered to the players in the sector.

For its 9th edition, the "Avant-Garde" programme has chosen to introduce a delegation of international professionals to 12 French artists selected from the MaMA programme. This operation is dedicated to export and to the promotion of French talents. Each day, 4 artists took the stage at the Trois Baudets for 15-minute mini-shows. An event produced in partnership with the Institut français. 

FAIR, presentation of a new scheme. To support the career development and professionalisation of contemporary music artists, FAIR will now support 20 beneficiaries each year, with 2 distinct programmes: 14 Emerging winners, and 6 Experienced winners, in 2 sessions (February and September). The Institut français is a partner in this programme to encourage the development of emerging artists internationally. 

The Prix des Musiques d'ICI is celebrating its 6th edition this year. Initiated in 2017 by "Villes des Musiques du Monde", the Prize is a national device for identifying and supporting artists from the diasporas and the French artists with whom they collaborate. It also aims to promote the collective appropriation of artistic and cultural heritage. The 6 finalists, Eliasse, Luna Silva Music, MARCELA, Oua-Anou Diarra, Pamela Badjogo,Zar Electrik, performed over two nights as part of MaMA Music & Convention. This event is supported by the Institut français. 

The Institut français invited an international delegation to the Jazz sur Seine Festival showcases organised in 6 Parisian clubs, located on rue des Lombards. The showcases were unprecedented and simultaneous, offering the best in French jazz creation.
