Lecomte de Brégeot

The only childhood dream that made me want to get up in the morning was to make music.

With Lecomte de Brégeot, Yannick Lecomte has given himself a noble pseudonym. His warm and synthetic electro proves that France is still king in this field and continues to seduce the world.

Yannick Lecomte AKA Lecomte de Brégeot was born in Paris in 1986 but grew up in Lyon. As a teenager at the turn of the 90s and 2000s, he fell in love with the techno of The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy and went to raves every weekend.

At the start of his twenties, after having been a DJ, he started to compose his own music using machines, at the crossroads between techno, new wave and house, but it was not until a few years later that he devoted himself to it full time.

In 2015 he performed at the Paris Techno Parade and in 2016 he released his first EP "There was a day" followed by two other EPs "Pretty Ashes" and "Fragment".

In 2020 he was selected for the BPM Contest, a launchpad for electronic music producers, and in 2021 he was selected for FAIR, a musical springboard born in 1989 that launched artists such as IAM and Christine and The Queens. An album written during lockdown should soon see the light of day.

Lecomte de Brégeot occupies a singular place in the current French musical landscape thanks to the combination of the "coldness" of the machines that give rise to a new wave electro sound with 80's flourishes (which sometimes reminds one of the maestro of the genre, Giorgio Moroder) and the human warmth of female voices and heady melodies.

His modern and old-fashioned sound aesthetic has opened the doors to a long-term collaboration with the prestigious Yves Saint Laurent brand. His tracks 'Paris 1985', 'Slash' and 'Carry On' each feature in advertising campaign videos for the luxury brand. The cinematic scope of his music has also allowed him to musically illustrate ads for various motorbike brands. Will a film soundtrack follow soon?

Despite a career still in its infancy, Lecomte de Brégeot has already toured throughout France and also in Russia, where his music is highly acclaimed and his sets end in applause! He was supposed to return there for a mini-tour at the beginning of December 2021 but the Omicron variant decided otherwise...

His recent collaboration with Violet Chachki, drag queen megastar (with more than 2 million followers on Instagram after winning RuPaul's Drag Race in 2015), on the track Mistress Violet, a real nugget of hypnotic synthpop, should open new doors for him in any case ...
