As part of the IF Export and IF Incontournable calls for projects, the Institut français is supporting a number of artistic projects that kick off this June. We invite you to discover them, with a particular focus on four major events.

In 2025, the IF Export and IF Incontournable calls will support a total of 205 projects for a total of 1,840,000 euros.

Emile Londonien on tour in South-East Asia

Emile Londonien has emerged from the Strasbourg scene and the Omezis collective, which brings together some twenty artists, musicians, DJ's and video makers, and has immersed himself in the English jazz scene of the last fifteen years, offering a personal version. A trio that plays with the codes of traditional jazz and the London scene, while infusing it with accents of house, broken beat and even hip-hop.

After appearing at some of Europe's biggest venues, including Montreux Jazz, Nancy Jazz Pulsation and Jazz à Vienne, the Institut français is accompanying the group's first steps in Asia on the occasion of the release of their second album Inwards. As part of IF Export, the Institut français is supporting the Alliance française des Philippines in coordinating this five-date regional tour, which will take in Bangkok (Bangkok World Music Day), Chiang Mai (North Gate Jazz Co-Op), Manila (Fête de la musique and Raffles Makati) and Brunei (Badar Seri Begawan).

The Panties for Peace collective and artist Fredj Moussa at the 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art

Since its foundation in 1996, the Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art has established itself as a key international event for the exploration of current artistic practices. A genuine platform for exchange and critical reflection, each edition welcomes artists, theorists and practitioners from a wide range of cultural and geographical backgrounds. The 13th edition, which runs from June 14 to September 14, 2025, is curated by Zasha Colah. With the support of the French Institute, the French scene will be represented at the Biennale with the Panties for Peace collective and artist Fredj Moussa.

Solar Noon by Fredj Moussa, is an experimental short film shot in the North African desert. Between myths, oral narratives and the memory of the landscape, it composes a sensitive geography between Machrek and Maghreb. The costumes, made from recycled materials such as Tunisian souk bags, evoke organic forms in motion. The work blends cinema, installation and ecology. Already an award-winner at Loop Barcelona, Solar Noon thus continues its international journey.

The activist collective Panties for Peace, for its part, presents images of demonstrations against the military dictatorship in Myanmar.

Illustrator Clément Thoby in residency at the Livart with Kiblind

With the support of the IF Export program and in partnership with Kiblind - IF Illustration Festival, Clément Thoby is currently in residency at the Livart in Montreal for the exhibition Détours. This residency will see its continuation at the next and third edition of the Illustration festival, on September 27 and 28, 2025, at Les Subsistances in Lyon.

The Irini and Ictus ensembles on tour in Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Luxembourg

Thought of as a speculative concert, Le livre des femmes combines medieval works dedicated to the Virgin Mary with a contemporary creation inspired by the Mahābhārata, a pillar of Hindu mythology. This encounter between times, cultures and aesthetics brings into dialogue the voices of yesterday and the voices of today, sacred bodies and sound bodies. It is with this creation that the Irini and Ictus ensembles are supported for an 8-date tour across Europe by the French Institute.

11 other projects are being presented internationally this June with support from the Institut français' IF Export and IF Incontournable programs. Find the full list here.
