Today, objects and works of art are explored in terms of the coexistence of sedimented times that go beyond them and outlast them. From 31 January to 24 March 2024, Design Sediments, at the Huidenclub in Rotterdam, explores the contemporary dimensions of sedimentation within various material processes, from the manufacture of objects to their disappearance, and by questioning time scales that go beyond the human. Today, artists and designers are exploring the cycles of extraction, production and destruction of objects through a mixture of human, non-human and geological temporalities.
