When virtual reality meets live performance

5 min

For a few years, new artist forms come forth at the intersection of innovation and art. In the area of virtual reality, creators take hold of this medium and mix it with performance art, journalism, and visual art, to bring spectators new experiences. Artists, always pioneers, have anticipated the meeting of real and virtual, objects and humans, art and society, by imagining these new hybrid artistic forms at the intersection of virtual reality, live performance and visual arts. These artistic and cultural experiences, many of them collective and participatory, renew the relationship the spectator has with the work, and meet growing demand from the public and cultural spaces for formats with a wide digital dimension. By mixing virtual reality, the empathy medium par excellence, and human interactions, these works have an unprecedented emotional power and ability to engage. A glimpse inside...

Eve, la danse est un espace sans lieu

Eve la danse est un espace sans lieu (Eve Dance is An Unplaceable Place) is a participative dance performance based on three EVR films (Embodied Virtual Reality). Each participant is plunged into different stories, filmed in Barcelona, Lyon and Venice. They fuse with Eve, a sort of Pachamama goddess, free, independent and creative, mother of earth and time and learn little by little to dance with her during an unforgettable experience.

In the near future of 24/7, the Dreamr start-up develops a headset that enables you to catch up on a night’s sleep in only thirty minutes. To try its effectiveness out, the company will trial the headset’s limits on a test-patient. Ready for the experience?
